Dr. Manfred Kops (manager of the Institute for Broadcasting Economics) in retirement

The long-standing manager of the institute, Dr. Manfred Kops, has retired at the end of September 2013. He established the Institute for Broadcasting Economics 1990 together with the founding directors Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinrich Hansmeyer and Prof. Dr. Günter Sieben and was since then in charge of the institute's operational management.

Among other things he founded and published the series of "Working Papers of the Institute for Broadcasting Economics", which contains almost 300 papers by now. Moreover he has been co-publisher of the series "Schriften zur Rundfunkökonomie" and the series "Kölner Schriften zur Medienökonomie".
Dr. Kops, who also was lecturer of the University of Cologne, will be bid farewell in November at a celebration organized by the board of directors and the scientific advisory board of the institute. Dr. Kops stays in function as a consultant of the institue.
Due to the retirement of Dr. Manfred Kops overtakes Prof. Dr. Detlef Schoder the managing direction of the institute and forms together with Prof. Dr. Johannes Münster the board of directors.
