International Conference: The Future of the Broadcasting Licence Fee in Times of Media Convergence

The conference was hosted by the Institute for Broadcasting Economics, in cooperation with the  Broadcasting Fee Association (BFA)

On the first day the legal, economic, and administrative requirements for the funding of public service broadcasting were discussed, and the role of the licence fee collecting agencies was explored. The second day focused on the question if a licence fee is still appropriate in times of media convergence, when receiving sets become multifunctional and "hybrid".

The presentation slides of all speakers can be downloaded from the list below. All audio records of the presentations are available there (please klick on the corresponding audio file, as soon as the speeches have been published in the Working Paper Series of the Institute, they also can be downloaded as pdf files).
